Hezbollah-Iran strategy is so obvious, why doesn’t the world community at large get it?
Hezbollah uses civilians not only as shields but also as a means of controlling its losses and consolidating its gains, all the while keeping Iran’s nuclear development program off center stage.
Hezbollah plays tragedy-TV media and ill-informed and intellectually lazy, liberal bleeding-heart world opinion like a violin:
1. Hezbollah set the stage for civilian casualties by bonding itself militarily and inseparably to the Lebanese civilian community;
2. For months Hezbollah freely launched terror rocket attacks on innocent Israeli citizens, and finally, as Iran was coming into focus on the nuclear issue, Hezbollah murdered and kidnapped Israeli soldiers, finally forcing Israel to respond in its own self-defense;
3. Israel’s response predictably and unavoidably resulted in civilian casualties, because that’s what Hezbollah strategy intended – and the more the better;
4. Hezbollah now wrings its hands, beats its chest and cries its great crocodile tears at the tragic death of innocent civilians, all the whiled milking every situation of its last drop of anti-Semitic venom; as for example, that sickening dead-baby farce Hezbollah choreographed in Qran;
5. Now the world wants to pressure Israel into a premature cease fire, leaving Hezbollah bandits looking like winners to the Middle East, with its military strength substantially intact and ready to do the same thing all over again the next time Iran yanks its puppet strings to provide another distraction from its nefarious purposes.
Sorry, folks, but there just isn’t any moral free lunch here, nor any unblemished moral high ground where on any of us can stand without blood on our conscience. This is the hardest of times, because regardless of what we do or do not do in the difficult years ahead, thousands, if not millions, are going to die.
Iran-Hezbollah and Syria-Hamas death cults fully understand this, relish it in fact, and are prepared, to the last man woman, child and infant, to fight and die for the total destruction of Israel and the annihilation of the Jewish people.
As for me, I say we fight the battles that need to be fought now, with whatever allies we can muster, and accept the civilian casualties, not because we are insensitive to them but because that is the kind of war that has been thrust on us by this less-than-human Islamofascit scum. Further, let us remain clear as to who put the innocents in harm’s way in the first place.
Looking back at World War II and comparing our current experience with Iran and the Middle East, in some senses we are somewhere near where we were with Nazi Germany prior to September 1939, before England declared war after Germany invaded Poland. In the previous decade, Hitler had already written Mein Kemph (“My Struggle”) where in he quasi-philosophically, morally, historically and politically set up scapegoating of the Jews for the events of the Reichstag fire, set by the Nazis in February, 1933 and used as a pretext by Hitler to seize power.
Militarily in relation to other nations, Iran lags behind where Hitler was in 1939, but nuclear weapons may strategically alter that balance, at least with the European nations. As far as demonization and scapgoating of the Jews, Hitler barely holds a candle to the Muslim Middle East because of the early state sponsored educational and religious indoctrination of Arab youth.
As late as March 1939, when Nazi troops seized Czechoslovakia, we still might have deposed Hitler by preemptive attack, some say, and avoided war, but America, England and France lacked the moral strength and political will.
Because we did not have the courage and conviction to act to stop Hitler and the Japanese, something on the order of 30 million people died, including the hundreds of thousands of innocents killed in the allied blanket fire bombings of Germany and Japan. Yes, people would have died had we preemptively attacked the Nazis, but far, far less than 30 million, and mostly military combatants.
So, God help us fight this evil at every opportunity, with all the vigor and with every resource we can muster, with overwhelming force whenever we can draw the cowardly enemy into the open. And let us remain ever clear that we pursue the right, and that a major part of our purpose, in addition to spreading religious and political freedom and a cculture of life, is the prevention of the kind of civilian casualties we had to inflict in World War II, where the loss of human life in this nuclear age may become incalculable.
Let’s not miss the mark again. The lives of our children and theirs may depend on it.
